Hilary Teeman (she/her) is Editorial Director for Fiction at Ballantine, acquiring contemporary women’s fiction, upmarket “reading group” fiction, historical fiction, literary fiction, psychological suspense, rom-coms, and love stories of all kinds. Hilary is especially drawn to smart, well-plotted novels with layered protagonists and moving, life-affirming conclusions. Some of her recent bestselling titles include The Maid by Nita Prose, Black Cake by Charmaine Wilkerson, We Were Never Here by Andrea Bartz, One Day in December by Josie Silver, Society of Lies by Lauren Ling Brown, The Bandit Queens by Parini Shroff and The Full Moon Coffee Shop by Mai Mochizuki. Other authors she has worked with at BBD include Terry McMillan, Frances Mayes, Debra Curtis, Ruta Sepetys, Sophie Chen Keller, Karen Parkman, Natasha Lester, Hattie Williams, Jennifer Ryan, Laurie R.
