Gabby Colangelo is an Editorial Assistant to Kara Cesare. She is acquiring commercial and upmarket fiction, especially romance, horror, and everything in between. She loves a maximalist, campy sensibility, and is always drawn to grounded speculative twists or sly social commentary. Gabby is always excited to work with queer, trans, BIPOC, and system-impacted writers on both fiction and nonfiction projects. Her list proudly includes forthcoming novels by Anne Hellman, Marshall J. Moore, Naina Kumar, and Shelly Jay Shore. She earned a BA in English from Yale and a MPhil in Gender Studies from Cambridge. Before joining Ballantine in 2024, Gabby worked for a nonprofit planning literary events in prisons and as an archival producer for various public humanities and journalism institutions, including the New York Times.
