Jamia Wilson is a Vice President and Executive Editor at Random House. Before joining Random House, Jamia most recently served as Executive Director and Publisher of the Feminist Press at the City University of New York, where she expanded both the scope and the readership of a storied list, achieving greater prominence for the press through books she published that garnered Lambda Literary and PEN Faulkner nominations and Whiting, National Book Award, National Book Critics Circle, and PEN/Diamonstein-Spielvogel awards. Jamia has worked on both sides of the desk, authoring several books for both adults and children, including Together We Rise and Young, Gifted, and Black. Jamia is passionate about amplifying diverse voices that capture imaginations and inspire empathy, critical thought, and action. She is interested in narrative nonfiction, issue-based nonfiction, memoir, social justice, pop culture, voice-driven stories, and more.
