Katy Nishimoto joined Dial in 2019 after 10 years on the agency side at WME. She acquires fiction, nonfiction, and poetry, with a special focus on femme, trans, and LGBTQ+ voices and writers of the global majority—books that celebrate the many ways we seek belonging, especially with a sense of humor. Her titles include Memphis by Tara M. Stringfellow (a national bestseller, Read with Jenna Pick, and Roxane Gay Audacious Book Club Pick), Hijab Butch Blues by Lamya H (Winner of the Brooklyn Public Library Book Prize and a Roxane Gay Audacious Book Club Pick), Horse Barbie by Geena Rocero (a them Now Award for Literature winner), Lucky Red by Claudia Cravens (a national bestseller and Indie Next pick), and Falling Back in Love with Being Human by Kai Cheng Thom (a New York Times Paperback Row selection). She’s played a critical role in launching Dial Delights, with a rom-com roster including Susie Dumond, Camille Kellogg, Mackenzi Lee, Georgia Clark, Lisa Peers, and KT Hoffman. Based in Los Angeles, Katy sits on the boards of Baldwin for the Arts, a nonprofit founded by Jacqueline Woodson that provides residency fellowships to artists of the global majority, and Together Rising, a nonprofit founded by Glennon Doyle that has raised over $45 million for people in crisis. @pedrokat
