The saints were the original social justice advocates. The Modern Saints is a collection of contemporary portraits celebrating the diversity and spiritual depth of the saints. Each entry features a contemporary image of the saint, a re-imagining of the space they might hold in society today, and an inspiring prayer to honor each figure.

Join us on November 2, following All Saints’ Day, at 7:00 p.m. EST on Zoom as the author of The Modern Saints, Gracie Morbitzer guides us in a workshop on modern iconography. The workshop will cover the history, materials, process, symbolism, and methods of iconography to help you develop a sense of the tradition of iconography. Then, using some new methods and materials, we will craft a “modern icon” of our own. Gracie will also be discussing her own process in creating the icons and how she got to that place. She’ll be sharing examples of iconography and Christian art and history from around the world as well.

To register for this event, pre-order The Modern Saints from the retailer of your choice, and submit your proof of purchase when registering. We can’t wait for you to join us!
