Gabby Colangelo is an Editorial Assistant to Kara Cesare. She acquires commercial and upmarket fiction, especially romance, horror, and everything in between. She loves a maximalist, campy sensibility, and is always drawn to grounded speculative twists or sly social commentary. Gabby is always excited to work with queer, trans, BIPOC, and system-impacted writers on both fiction and nonfiction projects. Her list proudly includes forthcoming novels by Anne Hellman, Marshall J. Moore, Naina Kumar, Jo Firestone, Kallie Emblidge, and Shelly Jay Shore. She earned a BA in English from Yale and a MPhil in Gender Studies from Cambridge. Before joining Ballantine in 2024, Gabby worked for a nonprofit planning literary events in prisons and as an archival producer for various public humanities and journalism institutions, including the New York Times.
